Our Commitment to Quality

At Clay Platte Family Medicine Clinic, we live with the belief that our patients must receive the highest quality of health care. This care must be delivered in a respectful and timely manner.  All of our providers and staff are committed to working as a team. A team that is continually improving the level of care delivered to our patients. Our Teams are focused on specific areas of quality improvement and seek detailed solutions and measureable results to your health-related quality issues. These projects and our ongoing quality efforts are posted on our walls for you to review during your visit to “our home.”  Please see below for a sample of these projects and their results:

Provider Arrival Time Goals:

  • Greater than 70% of the time, the first patient on the schedule, will wait less than 5 minutes in the exam room for the provider to arrive
  • Less than 10% of the time, the first patient on the schedule, will wait more than 10 minutes in the exam room for the provider to arrive
  • Average wait-time, in the exam room, for the first patient on the schedule will be less than 5 minutes

 Patient Visit Cycle Time Goal:

To improve patient satisfaction by reducing unnecessary wait times:

  • Time from check in to time when provider is in the room with the patient averages 35 minutes
  • During the 35 minutes, patients are checked in at the front desk, vital signs are collected, medication lists are reviewed, chief complaint is collected and any required lab tests or x-rays are taken.

Triage Message Cycle Time Goal:

To prevent delays in care by efficiently managing all phone calls that come into the triage department related to prescription refills and general patient questions.

  • The triage department accepts approximately 1,650 patient calls each month.
  • The triage department places approximately 3,500 outgoing calls each month.
  • It takes an average of 67 minutes for a message to be taken, the chart to be pulled from medical records and given to the provider to review.
  • On average, it takes 229 minutes for a call requiring a providers review to be resolved with the patient.
